Just a quick post tonight - I've been dealing with family health issues recently, and the past couple of days I've been shaking down BlogEngine.NET 2.5 in preparation for the launch of evolvingcodemonkey.com later this month. Happily, tonight I figured out how to make BE 2.5 work with my current Web host. I also discovered that Websense is not currently showing that this blog has "Potentially Dangerous Content." I think I'm going to make a regular lookup to see if Websense changes their mind.
PhotoSwipe image gallery for mobile-friendly Web sites
Tonight's post is just a bookmark post - PhotoSwipe is an image gallery for mobile and touch devices, including iPhone, iPad, Android, and Blackberry 6.
It's built on HTML, CSS, and Javascript. There is also a jQuery implementation built into the package, allowing wider support of desktop browsers.
It looks like a good way to serve an image gallery as a Web page, instead of having to build a dedicated app.
PhotoSwipe is from Code Computerlove, a "digital communications agency" based in Manchester, England. By "digital communications agency," they mean they handle marketing and advertising as well as webpage design and development.
Their blog currently features a slide presentation from a recent conference they co-hosted. The presentation is titled Beyond Usability: Increasing conversion with persuasive design. It looks very interesting and I intend to return to it for a longer look in a day or two - stay tuned!
